Our story begins in 1879.
From this time onwards, the Oliver Parellada family has been present in the restaurant world. Always with the vocation of sharing the good things in life. The more people enjoy them, the better they are.
The combination of the 15th century farmhouse, 23 hectares of natural space, two large reception rooms, recognised and exquisite services and a lively, vibrant and up to date cuisine, makes today’s Can Ribas the culmination of a dream begun several centuries ago.

One of the most rewarding things is when someone visits us for the first time. Many are surprised to find that that only half an hour from Barcelona they can breathe in the peace and quiet.
It is a calmness that’s difficult to describe. For example, sitting mid-afternoon on a bench contemplating the view of el Vallès, walking among fruit and olive trees, treading the recently cut grass in the gardens, and in general enjoying the enchanting outdoor space around the house.
This is why seeing the expression of our first time visitors’ faces becomes the best motivation to keep working to share and to do our best. -

In Can Ribas, as we are aware of their value, we have kept these spaces are bright and open, and this sensation can be perceived from every corner.
This is why in the two large reception rooms there are no columns, and they have direct access to the gardens, and they are surrounded by large glass windows that enable you observe the views at all times. The two reception rooms cover 360 m2 with a capacity of more than 300 people and each one can be sub-divided into three smaller rooms. The architecture of these spaces ensures that neither the large seating capacity nor the versatility of the rooms become obstacles for appreciating the beauty of the surroundings.

At Can Ribas we know that the final result is the sum of many things. And in the kitchen, a basic thing is to ensure that the ingredients are the very best, fresh and ready to be cooked.
Because of this we control the origin of all our raw material, we choose our providers with the greatest of care and we cook our dishes trying to preserve the flavour of each ingredient and its properties. This means paying a lot of attention to each detail at every step so that the dish achieves its full potential by the time it is presented at the client’s table.
These are our kitchen ethics. Only in this way, demanding only the best of our skills, can we achieve the best result and a high quality cuisine with its own personality. A cuisine that allows us to innovate, while respecting traditions and ensuring we keep the prestige we have already established in this area.
The passion and effort that we invest in selecting our raw material, means that our vegetable garden is one of the most important places in Can Ribas.
We work the earth with due respect for our cuisine’s ingredients. We cultivate vegetables of all kinds and control their ripening process so that when they turn up on your plate they are at their optimum.
This is a special place where it is easy to feel at home watching the crops grow, in direct contact with the earth, the origin of everything and with a way of life that has been with us for a very long time.
